FEMICIDE An invitation to write arthistory.
Some artworks are exhibited, others become icons.
FEMICIDE is intended to have lasting significance, not by shocking, but by making visible what usually remains hidden, the gradual dehumanization of a human being into property.
The sculpture does not depict a victim.
It shows the tension that precedes violence.
Female body stands under unequal forces.
The skin seems still alive.
The threat is palpable.
The question is inevitable.
How much tension can a human endure before breaking?
It is about the process that precedes it.
In doing so, it becomes more than a sculpture, it becomes a monument.
Everyone who never received a monument a place in the art history.
Throughout the centuries, artists have used the body to make fundamental human themes visible.
Where Rembrandt and Soutine depicted the fragility of life, femicide investigates the mechanisms that see destruction, control, manipulation, pendants, and dehumanization.
Unlike much contemporary art about violence, femicide shows no dead body, no blood, and no sensationalism.
It chooses A fundamentally different approach.
As a result, the focus shifts from shock to.
Empathy and from the end point to the process. Why now?: Femicide does not arise out of nowhere that process usually remains invisible the media show the outcome statistics record a victim femicide makes visible what precedes it an invitation to.
One visionairs, visionary.
Great art rarely arises alone.
Behind lasting works of art, there was almost always a patron who recognized their significance early on.
That is why we are not seeking A sponsor, but one founding patron, a person, foundation, museum or collector who wishes to make a lasting connection to a work of social and art historical significance.
The name of the founding patron will be permanently linked to Femicide as a co-founder of the project.
In addition, the founding patron receives an exclusive invitation to the first unveiling and the unique privilege of helping to determine the location of the premier in consultation with the artist. ONE: There is only one first presentation and only one name that will forever remain linked to making it possible.
This is not sponsorship, this is cultural patronage, an opportunity to help shape an artwork that is not only exhibited but remembered.
Femicide will ultimately become a single artwork where the visible accompanying images represents ideas .
